I believe that overwhelming biblical evidence suggests that Jesus came back and raptured the early church in 70AD during the destruction of Jerusalem by the Roman army, sometime shortly thereafter, or even possibly shortly prior to this event. This doctrine is known as "Partial-Preterism." This doctrine should not be confused with "Full Preterism" which suggests that ALL Bible prophecy was fulfilled in 70AD.
The partial-preterist doctrine suggests that the Second Coming has already occurred, and with it, the rapture (gathering) of the saints both Jew and Gentile (non-Jews). I believe that it is likely that we are currently living in what is known as the "millenium" (a long period of time), and, that the saints who were raptured are ruling in heaven.
The final events of the millenium are: A final world war (possibly nuclear), and the apparent destruction of the planet (debatable). After this, the earth and sky are apparently rejuvenated, and, the saints who were raptured come back to earth from heaven to rule over it.
These apparently would be the final events in the history of the world. Some scholars are at odds on the details, so, it is most likely a "wait and see" event.
